We were scared of getting in trouble with the law. Haha! But after visiting many places, we were losing light. It was not looking good. Finally, we decided to roam into the heart of San Francisco at Union Square where there’s a lot traffic and people. We then grabbed a few random strangers and asked if they would like to participate and everyone was more than happy to! Then everything happened all at once and we think it came out pretty awesome!

We want to thank Yen and Liem for being our first couple to create a video like this. We had so much fun! It’s just one of those things where you HAD to be there! We really admire their connection with one another. Both are very fun and easy to talk to.

We recently had an opportunity to work beside the great Barry Lai, a creative designer and brand strategist from San Francisco who owns his own design firm called Design Rehab. Barry has been known to do some amazing work for various companies and brands throughout the world. This video project was produced in hopes to inspire and spark the creative imagination that we all hold inside us. We hope you like it!

It was such an emotional wedding and you can really feel it! Quang + Julie also married on their 12th year anniversary! Can you believe it? Yes, they were high school sweethearts as well! We are so inspired with their commitment and dedication to each other, it’s so beautiful. They were also so nice and accommodating to us.

We are from San Jose, and their wedding was in Stockton/Sacramento and it’s nearly a 2 hour drive and they took care of us by getting us a hotel the night before, so we wouldn’t have to drive up so early. We thank you for that and really appreciate it!

You may notice a few ceremony locations, that’s because there were 4! Whoa, right? Yes, this was our first time documenting a wedding where there were 4 ceremonies. Two of them were traditional tea ceremonies, one was at a Buddhist temple, and the final one was a civil ceremony with friends and family.

You may be wondering why Quang did his vows in Vietnamese. We were at the Buddhist temple for the ceremony and blessing and the headmaster had asked him to do so. It was unexpected, but it was so beautiful! They both speak perfect English but it was such a unique and touching way to say vows from what we are used to. We want to thank Quang & Julie for giving us the opportunity to document your beautiful wedding! We hope this film takes you back!

What we LOVE about this wedding: (In no particular order)

- You can see it clearly in the film, but Thomas’ reaction when Jamie is walking down the aisle during the ceremony totally gets us. The tears, the excitement, the moment they’ve all been waiting for. The years of dedication, the stress of planning, this just shows that such love exists. Each wedding has its own emotions, we as cinematographers get teary eyed from time to time at weddings as well. This was one of them.
- We loved the speeches! They were all touching and unique.
- We loved how Thomas put sunglasses on Jamie’s mom during the tea ceremony. It really made everyone laugh.
- When Jamie read the card that Thomas gave her, she was fanning herself. (She had something in her eye, ya know?
- We love how they come from two different cultures. Thomas is Italian and Jamie is Chinese. BEAUTIFUL BABIES, right?!
- The ice sculpture decor at the reception. So much time went into that.
- The little flower girl dumping her basket on Thomas’s head during the processional.
- The little ring boy high 5′ing all the groomsmen during the processional.
- Thomas + Jamie’s vows were incredibly touching. Lots of tears!
- We got to see our past bride and groom Erika + Will again! it’s always good seeing them!
- They surprised everyone with a taco truck! Awesome, right?!
- Last but not least, the amount of support we receive from Thomas + Jamie. They really are the coolest people!

On August 12th, 2012, we had the opportunity to film a very special wedding. Now, this wasn’t just any wedding. This wedding happened to be one of our very good friends that we’ve known ever since high school. We witnessed the very beginning stages of their relationship when they first met in Las Vegas all the way to their proposal and now their big day.

What makes this marriage even more special is the bride is one of the last ones out of all her friends to tie the knot, and the groom is one of the first ones out of his friends to. The pressure was on but they somehow magically pulled it off stress free with creative surprises throughout the night.

The maid of honor, which is also Kim’s sister, had one of the best speeches we’ve ever heard. It was well thought out and well rehearsed. This couple also had one of the best first dance performances we’ve ever seen, a special surprise music video, perfectly written vows, and even a wild bouquet and garter toss to top things off. They definitely set the bar high for future couples to follow.

Overall, we hope this video takes them back to their special wedding day so they can relive this moment all over again. In one word, we can describe this couple and their wedding day: PERFECT.

We actually went to high school with Liem the groom. He’s a very cool and relaxed guy. One thing we really admire about Liem is his loyalty towards his friends and family. It clearly explains why this couple has been together for 10 years! Yen, the beautiful bride inside and out, is one of the most kind and considerate individuals we’ve ever met. She always puts others before herself and makes the effort in everything that she does. You can hear the sincerity in her voice as she was reading her vows and it really just shows you how much they really love each other. Yen + Liem both had beautifully written vows and we were in awe as we heard them. We’ve shot more than 50 weddings. But it is the first time we’ve ever witnessed so many people cry during the vows. It just really hit home for everyone.

I have to say, this was one of our most amazing weddings of the year. It was a small and intimate wedding involving the closest friends and family in Gilroy, CA. Everyone there were the reason they had such a strong bond for each other but of course, their love for each other as well.

Angela and Joey had such great friends and family that there were so much funny and emotional speeches that I had to make this a feature film for them. The entire ceremony and reception was held outside the winery during the summer so it was a gorgeous day. The lighting was perfect. Everybody had fun and danced the night away celebrating the beginning of the couple’s lives together.

Oh yeah, the winery’s almond champagne is amazing so if you have not tried it yet, be sure to try it! Best ever!
